Welcome to the official blog for Haverford College’s chapter of Active Minds. For those of you who don’t know, Active Minds is a national nonprofit focused on mental health advocacy and suicide prevention. It was founded 15 years ago by a student at University of Pennsylvania, and now has over 450 student-led chapters on high school and college campuses around the country. You can learn more about Active Minds and their story here.
Active Minds at Haverford College is a club for students who want to start conversations about mental health on campus and nationally. We work to raise awareness, distribute resources, and shape Haverford’s campus culture. Every week we meet to hold meaningful discussions, plan events on campus, and build community among students passionate about mental health. We currently hold meetings 7:30-8:30PM on Thursday nights in the DC Bryn Mawr Room! Please feel free to drop in on a meeting and bring your dinner! Meetings are low pressure and there is no required level of participation.
This blog exists as a space to share ideas and resources, as well as promote discussion around the topics of mental health and mental illness. Please reach out via the contact page if you are interested in contributing–– we’d love to hear from you!
